• Please check in with your airline 3 hours prior to your international flight's departure time.
• Egypt Air closes their check-in counters an hour prior to the flight’s departure time.
• Egypt Air allows 1 or 2 pieces of checked luggage, 50 pounds (23 kilograms) EACH, and a carry-on. Please check your tickets for luggage allowance.
• Please check with your local carrier for their own restrictions.
• Please do NOT check your luggage all the way to Cairo if you will use Egypt Air. Upon arrival in JFK, please claim your luggage and hand them to Egypt Air.

• Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the travel date.
• The cost of the visa is calculated in the cost of your tour package.

• There are no necessary inoculations before traveling to Egypt.
• Bring your own medication in the pharmacy labeled container.
• Bring an anti-diarrhea medication with you, JUST IN CASE.
• Please check with your primary care doctor if you require any inoculations or medications prior to your trip.

• Current exchange rate $1 US Dollar= approximately 49 Egyptian Pounds
• Credit cards and debit cards are accepted at major stores and hotels. ATMs are available in most hotels.
• Discover cards are not accepted. American Express cards are not widely accepted.
• Egypt’s currency is the Egyptian pound. The currency denominations are 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, & 200.
• United States dollars, Euros, British pounds, and Egyptian pounds are accepted everywhere.
• Exchanging money in Egypt is much cheaper than exchanging money abroad. We recommend exchanging your money in the hotel.
• Please bring money in small denominations (1, 5, 10, 20) of your local currency to be used for shopping and/or tipping.

• Bring large-capacity memory cards or lots of high-speed film.
• Photography is allowed in most tombs and temples. Your guide will let you know whether it is permissible to take photos or if there are any restrictions.

• Drink only bottled mineral water.
• Try to avoid raw vegetables for the first couple of days until your system gets used to the new bacteria.
• Food in the hotels, Nile Cruise, and local restaurants are safe to eat.
• Peel the skin off all raw fruits and vegetables.
• If you have any dietary restrictions, please notify us before your departure.

• In Egypt, you can find the following items:
  Jewelry, oriental carpets, Papyrus, essential perfume oils, cotton and textile products, statues, and much more.

• Bargaining for a product is accepted in Egypt.

• Egypt has a dry climate with plenty of sunshine.
• Due to its desert climate, temperatures drop rapidly during the evening into the night.
• Bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

• Egypt is 7 hours ahead of the United States Eastern Standard Time.
• 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

• Voltage in Egypt is 220-240 volts/ 50 cycles.
• Wall plugs are the round two-pronged European style.
• American electronics will not work in Egypt without a converter.
• Most new laptops and electronics are equipped to operate between 100-240 volts. Please check your devices before your departure.

Arabic is the main language in Egypt, however, English, Spanish, Italian, and French are widely spoken.
